A Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) is for anyone seeking advice and information on all subjects, including employment, housing, debt, benefits, legal and family matters.

Relate


Relate, the relationship people, is the largest provider of relationship support in the UK. It provides services face-to-face through its national network of local Centres, as well as by telephone and online. Services include relationship counselling, sex therapy, family counselling (including post-separation counselling), and young people's services, all delivered by qualified professionals. Samaritans

Provides information and support for anyone with a friend or relative in prison. Has a range of information sheets we can send out that cover issues that affect prisoners and their relatives. Can also direct people to other useful organisations.

The Men's Project


The Men's Project seeks to increase awareness of the issues facing men and boys in NI and to promote social inclusion by creating and sustaining networks, researching needs and issues, collating information and resources, initiating practical action, raising awareness of men's issues and recommending future strategies.

Welsh Women's Aid


A source of help for women in Wales experiencing physical, financial, mental, emotional and/or sexual abuse by someone they have been in a relationship with. Can refer callers to local groups for support, information and refuge. The 39 local Women's Aid groups provide information, support and safe refuges for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. The national office aims to raise awareness of domestic abuse through campaigning, lobbying and liasing with relevant agencies.

Women's Aid Federation of England


Provides a National Domestic Violence Helpline run in partnership with Refuge, for women experiencing domestic violence, friends/family calling on behalf of women and other agencies wanting to refer women. Can refer callers to local refuges and emergency accommodation and also provides an information service including safety planning and translation facilities.

Family Rights Group (FRG) was established as a registered charity in 1974 to provide advice and support for families whose children are involved with social services. FRG works to improve the services received by these families.

Families Need Fathers


Offers personal support and information to parents and others excluded from the lives of their children, or seeking to share their parenting. Provides support, information and advice booklets to help parents stay in touch with their children after divorce or separation. Runs a telephone helpline and holds regional, self-help meetings throughout the UK. Publishes factsheets and other parenting and legal support information and runs a self-help internet forum for members.
